Happy Thursday my golden shrimps!
Today, we return under the Sicilian sun, I take you on the beach of Isola Bella (the small island that can be seen on my first photo) and in the streets of Taormina.

Les petits poissons / The little fishes

"je vais mourir dans ce télécabine" / "I will die in this cable car"

Isola Bella is a mini island at the foot of Taormina on the east of Sicily. It is a protected reserve, you can see there plenty of fish and sea urchins in the water. The small island is connected to the shore by a small arm of sand that is more or less clear depending on the tide. To access Isola Bella from Taormina happens when there are two solutions, either you do it on foot using the stairs (it's long) or you take a cable car ride for € 3. We did the walk downhill, our legs were shaking a little, but it was ok, but I wasn't feeling to make the climb back up! So we took the cable car that is pretty quick, thankfully since I was in a panic because of my vertigo ... no comment.

Taormina is a town perched 200 meters above sea level on the edge of the sea. This is a very nice city, very lively. We were in Giardini Naxos just next door which made it very easy to go there almost every evening for a joyride (the passeggiata in Italian) and eat ice cream.

Arancini are Sicilian snacks, stuffed rice with meat or vegetables (I took eggplant mozzarella), it's just so good!

La belle céramique sicilienne / The beautiful Sicilian ceramics

Taormina is very touristy, it teems with people, we crossed at least two weddings every time we went there, and there are plenty of Sicilian ceramics shops, restaurants ... At the same time it is a luxury town with beautiful hotels and bars, many luxury shops.
