DIY - Un Cadre Magnétique Pour Photos

Hello, hello!

Hello, hello!
I' am back today with a new DIY to make a magnetic photo display.
I found this frame in the street 3 years ago and since then it was in my basement waiting for me to found it a new life. Finally three years later, after a blue makeover, I finally found an idea for this frame; it would become a framed picture display. As we take a lot of pictures I thought it was a good idea to make a magnetic frame where we could change the pictures as we want without damaging them.

Equipment:
  • A wooden frame
  • Three wooden boards cut to frame dimensions
  • Wood glue
  • Magnetic tape
  • Magnets

  1. Optional: start by painting the frame and / or the wooden planks with the color you want if you wish to. I used the cobalt blue from the Liquitex brand that I used HERE and for the boards I made a homemade dye.
  2. Check that your boards are the right size compared to the inside of the frame, otherwise re-cut or sand so that the planks fit well in the frame.
  3. Put wood glue on the inside of the frame, where the board and the frame come into contact. Put the board and put some wood glue at the joint board / frame. Wipe off any excess glue. Let dry.
  4. Once the glue is dry, put pieces of magnetic tape on the boards, where you want to put your pictures. I made pieces of 5 cm of tapes that I stuck in the middle of the boards to put two magnets by pictures, one on top and one at the bottom.
  5. Now you just have to put your favorite pictures on the frame with magnets.

I hope that you enjoy this DIY, it is not particularly difficult but it can be a little tricky to cut your boards at the right size if your frame doesn't have a straight shape. Anyway we love our framed magnetic picture display.
